In this role, you will : Complete and maintain general ledger transactions, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports for units affiliated with the Shared Services Center. Assist with month-end close process by preparing and analyzing monthly journal entries and reporting documents for Gannett Business Units. Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet accounts to supporting documentation. Demonstrate initiative to resolve any balancing issues in the reconciliations. Participate in special accounting projects as required. Here's what you need: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting or Business-related field. Recent College Graduates up to 2 years of full-time work experience in general accounting. Proficient in Excel spreadsheets and other computer applications/software to provide fiscal analysis. Reasonable knowledge of accounting principles and procedures including: US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Strong systems orientation including MS Office. Must be able to work in an organized, fast paced, deadline-oriented environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with emphasis on superior customer service and teamwork.
