are right the first time.Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Testing automated equipment with programmable logic controllers
(PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), vision inspection systems,
and robotics working from project timelines and customer
requirements.
- Completing system configuration and programming including:
Verista standard and custom product set-up and configuration Cognex
VisionPro toolset programming HMI parameter configuration Vision
system setup including product lighting, and camera stand-off PLC
program editing.
- Participation in factory build, installation and start-up per
design for: Panels and electrical enclosures Imaging enclosures
Photoeyes, brackets, cameras, etc. Machine frame, motor, and motion
assemblies.
- Redline electrical panel drawings and schematics for
equipment.
- Providing engineering level support and guidance in start-up
and troubleshooting of automation equipment.
- Assisting automation aspects of equipment checkout throughout
design, production and installation of vision and automation
products.
- Managing and completing equipment installation, and customer
training of vision and custom equipment systems at client
sites.
- Verification of bill of materials (BOM) based upon design and
adherence to specifications.
- Developing technical documentation such as manual configuration
documentation and training videos.
- Technical liaison during Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) or Site
Acceptance Test (SAT)Maintaining an organized, clean and safe work
area.RequirementsRequirements:
- Ability and educational exposure to programming automated
equipment including vision inspection systems.
- Ability and educational exposure to programming,
troubleshooting PLCs and vision inspection software.
- Experience building electrical panels, 480V and 120V panels
including power, PLC, and an average of 100+ I/O points Understand
PLC logic Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Technical understanding and experience with automated equipment
for manufacturing, device assembly, and packaging (PLCs, HMIs, PC
based controls)
- Experience and ability to read, trace and troubleshoot
equipment design and start-up using electrical, mechanical and
facility drawings.
- Preferred area of study in Electrical Engineering, Electrical
Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or similar.Preferred
Skills:
- PLC programming Cognex VisionPro toolset programming.
- Ability to modify electrical schematic in AutoCAD or equivalent
program.
- Scripting ability in mid-level language (Visual Studio, VBA, C,
etc.)This position requires advanced learning, technical precision,
and consistent use of independent judgment and discretion. Field
Engineers configure, test and support automated manufacturing
equipment, vision systems, and custom equipment used in industrial
manufacturing and packaging operations. Field Engineers are
particularly focused upon completion of these activities in the
"field" or at respective client manufacturing sites.The Field
Engineer will participate as a professional engineering team member
on equipment projects with responsibility for configuration of
equipment, equipment installation at client sites, testing and
validation of equipment (FATs, IQ, OQ, PQ), and equipment
