The Job Details: The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for conducting work measurement studies in the warehouse, developing engineered labor standards for employees, and implementing efficient distribution and process improvements. This individual must have a sound knowledge of the distribution process as well as the use of technology-based solutions to increase productivity, quality, and service levels. The Industrial Engineer must have the ability to analyze operational processes, document prospective solutions, and present these solutions to upper management personnel. This position requires the ability to train all levels of employees on preferred methods, and to direct employees to the completion of tasks.

  • Create/update/maintain engineered labor standards to represent preferred methods established for warehouse positions
    • Perform machine time studies and collect frequencies for engineered labor standards
      • Develop and provide instructional classes /presentations to associates at all levels in labor standards applications and in process changes
      • Maintain map and work elements in Labor Management System (LMS)
      • Monitor LMS to ensure system performance and data integrity
        • Conduct coaching sessions / observations
        • Review production, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities
          • Identify opportunities and eliminate waste in key business processes
          • Develop metrics that must be monitored to ensure organizational compliance with processes for quality and productivity and ensure that appropriate action plans are developed to bring out of compliance areas back into a proper process
          • Audit incentive programs for accuracy of measurement
            • Provide ROI evaluations on material handling equipment based on labor savings and facility design
              • Oversee implementation of process change and develop metrics to evaluate that the process is being followed and that it brings value to the organization,
              • Analyze the distribution processes and identify areas of opportunity for improvement and develop new methods/tools to improve the processes The Job Specifics:

                • Travel Amount: Up to 15%

                  Education
                  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or any other applicable degree with a strong focus in process improvement, data interpretation, or mathematics Experience
                    • Experience with Labor Management Standards (MOST or MSD) preferred
                    • Experience with applicable software and computer language (Tableau, Power BI, SQL, VBA, Java, Javascript, R Studio, AutoCAD, etc.) preferred Other Abilities You Will Need to Have:
                      • Excellent written and verbal skills
                        • Good arithmetic and reading skills
                          • Leadership and management skills
                            • Understand and follow verbal instruction, written instruction, and company policies
                              • Ability to communicate effectively
                              • A starter that can work independently and coordinate with others

                                • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage stress and productivity guidelines
                                  • Work longer hours as needed
                                    • Drive a registered motor vehicle to satisfy daily requirements
                                    • Have acceptable and / or correctable vision
                                      • Sit and /or stand for extended periods of time
                                      • Be able to see, speak and hear
                                        • Bend and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
                                        • Lift up to 70lbs with assistance on an occasional basis
                                        • Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls
                                          • Use scanners, tablets, radio, phones, and other warehouse machinery
                                          • Work in an atmosphere range of + 50 to - 20 degrees F with a moderate noise level The Standard Details:

                                            • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.
                                            • Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes and/or quality.
                                            • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels.
                                            • Verify the implementation of solutions.
                                            • Follow posted security procedures at all times while in the building.
