We are currently seeking an experienced, results-oriented, "Hands-On" visionary to join our company as an Assistant Plant Manager in Franklin, VA. This position is ideal for someone that has a management background in continuous improvement, increased production, and/or quality control with sights set on becoming a Plant Manager.

In this key leadership position as Assistant Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the Production, Human Resources, and Shipping Departments. The ideal candidate has previous production management experience in food manufacturing and/or grocery products and has a keen understanding of lean manufacturing processes as well as regulatory and safety compliance for food production. The ideal candidate is dedicated to process improvement that decreases downtime and increases plant efficiency while maintaining product quality and food safety standards. This position requires an individual who will be involved in finding, hiring, supporting, training, and mentoring supervisors and team leaders throughout the facility.

Responsibilities include:
Manage all aspects of Production and Shipping across multiple shifts operating our 24-hour 7 days a week manufacturing facility.
Involved in the management of all Human Resource functions from recruiting qualified candidates to making the hard choices when necessary.
Supports a companywide commitment to the manufacture of safe, quality food and a plant-wide commitment to safety.
Leads by example to inspire a sense of teamwork within work areas and across departments to support the companies' goals.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and budgeting. Shows proactivity in looking for cost savings opportunities to meet individual and plant goals.
Engage and encourage employees across all departments and levels in the company to improve their individual performance and to grow their careers within the company.

Qualifications Include:
Bachelor's Degree
Degree in food science or background in quality (PCQI Certified) is a bonus
5+ years of food manufacturing experience
2+ years of Management/Leadership experience in a food manufacturing plant
Experience in Lean, TPM, Continuous Improvement. 5-S Implementation/Training, and Change Management Programs
Having suffered and survived through the implementation of a full ERP computer roll-out in the office and plant would be helpful
Successful history of motivating and training teams with direct responsibility for hiring/terminating employees
Understanding of key metrics and their impact on the business
Sound strategic planning skills
Outstanding problem-solving skills
Well-organized, confident, energetic, and calm under pressure
Excellent interdepartmental communication skills
Bilingual (English Spanish) preferred, but not required
