We are currently seeking a Trait Introgression (TI) Manager for our corn and soybean trait platforms. The Trait introgression Manager will be responsible for the introgression of GM or edited traits into corn and soybean elite germplasm. The traited elite germplasm will feed the late-stage product pipeline to ensure high quality, high yielding elite germplasm is provided to the commercial team for product launch. This role reports to the Director of Product Design and Development and is based in West Lafayette, Indiana.
As the Trait Ingression Manager, you will...


  • Develop and implement the TI strategy aligned with the organization's commercial and business goals
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with Field Operations, Product Development, and Commercial organizations to deliver a robust product pipeline
  • Develop and identify key germplasm donors to support internal and partner organizations needs
  • Partner with Global Regulatory to ensure the development and delivery of key Regulatory intermediates allowing for Global approvals
  • Work with molecular labs to ensure adequate resources are available for sampling and genotyping projects
  • Forecast and manage resources associated with projects, coordinate nurseries in GH, Field or CRO aligning with stakeholders
  • Ensure meaningful knowledge, data and material transfer occur during transition points of every crop cycle
  • Identify key areas of opportunity for new technology implementation and/or process improvement, while positively contributing to a collaborative, innovative, and design-centric culture
  • Provide strategic leadership as a member of the Late Product Development extended leadership team that creates commercial value across crops globally
  • Support the Health Safety & Environment and Compliance policies

    You Bring...

    • Preference is for M.S. or PhD degree in Crop Breeding, Agronomy or Plant Science with 10+ years of industry experience in breeding, trait introgression, product evaluation, and/or technical product management
    • Knowledge of products, practices, and commercial landscape within the industry
    • Extensive experience designing field strategy and conducting field research
    • Strong experimental design and analytical skills to generate, interpret and summarize scientific data and information
    • Knowledge and understanding of science relevant to gene edited products and of crop production systems including germplasm, traits, chemistries, and general agronomic practices
    • Planning skills to organize, prioritize, schedule and coordinate work activities for multiple projects
    • A strong sense of purpose and drive to develop unique, high impact solutions
    • Adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, innate curiosity, and a passion for learning
    • Creative and strategic thinking, willingness to be bold and take risks, and the ability to recognize and learn from failure
    • A collaborative mindset that is open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedback.
    • Ability to work both independently and deliver on responsibilities within a highly collaborative environment
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and audiences
    • Interpersonal skills to communicate, advise, negotiate or influence others as well as build productive working relationships in a cross functional environment
