Meet Pennington Park Church:
Pennington Park's history begins with our sending church, College
Park Church in northern Indianapolis, who sought to ignite a
passion to follow Jesus throughout the greater Indy-metro region.
In its young life, Pennington Park Church has continued to see
God's faithfulness and providential hand working in our people and
city, and we continue to respond with faithfulness as we consider
the future God has for us.After spending five years as a mobile
church worshiping in a school, God led us to complete a capital
campaign and building project.On Wednesday, March 25, 2020,
Pennington Park Church received approval for occupancy from the
City of Fishers and held its first in-person services on Sunday,
June 21. We are so thankful for the countless people who have used
their God-given gifts and abilities to make the vision of
Pennington Park Church become a reality. God is doing faithful work
in and through this bodyto know Jesus and make Him known.
About the Children's Ministry Director:
The Children's Ministry Director will implement and manage all
programming and staff for ministries offered from nursery through
the sixth grade at Pennington Park Church. This oversight includes
Sunday morning Children's Ministry offerings for both services,
Children's Ministry-related events outside of Sunday morning, and
volunteers.
Specifically, this staff member will supervise the development and
weekly responsibilities of Children's Ministry staff members,
including the Children's Ministry Coordinator and Ministry
Assistant. Additionally, the Children's Ministry Director will
ensure a cohesive vision exists within Children's Ministry from
nursery through sixth-grade programming while also implementing an
attainable strategy of family discipleship and equipping at
Pennington Park Church.
The Children's Ministry Director's Responsibilities Include:
Manage and develop the Children's Ministry staff
Develop and manage Children's Ministry staff by conducting weekly
meetings, having one-on-one touchpoints, and ensuring staff is
developing.
Willingness to address areas of growth for each Children's Ministry
staff member by balancing truth and grace
Oversee Children's Ministry programming
Communicate and implement vision for programs from nursery to
6thgrade
Meet with and invest in key leaders, including teachers and room
leaders
Oversee implementation of Sunday morning curriculum
Ensure each Children's Ministry programming is fully staffed while
working alongside the Children's Ministry staff, including
recruiting new volunteers
Develop and maintain all training resources and processes for
volunteers
Create and enforce policies and procedures related to safety and
security within the classroom
Oversee and drive summer programming for families such as Backyard
Bible Clubs by recruiting and training volunteers, overseeing the
theme and curriculum, and executing the vision
Maintain and wisely steward related budgets and ministry
spending
Develop and manage key family discipleship opportunities and
strategies
Develop and maintain a Milestones Ministry, which seeks to provide
a straightforward pathway of family discipleship
Oversee recurring Child Dedication services and processes (3x a
year)
Teach and manage curriculum for the Parenting Seminar in order to
provide a biblical understanding of parental calling and
responsibilities (3x a year)
Work alongside the Pastor of Discipleship in creating Equip Classes
intended to further train parents in family discipleship and roles
within the home
Seek to develop relationships with families and connect with
parents and children regularly on Sunday mornings and throughout
the week
Maintain and wisely steward related budgets and ministry
spending
What You Bring:
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred
3-5 years of experience in a local church or Christian family
ministry
Experience in leading and training ministry teams and
volunteers
Knowledgeable background and experience in family discipleship,
recruitment, and strategy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Able to prioritize relationships without neglecting processes and
systems
Gifted in staff management and development
Able to teach and communicate in large-group or small-group
settings
Skilled in recruiting, training, developing, and leading volunteers
and lay teams
Gifted in problem-solving, strategy, and creating processes
Desire to disciple, pour into, and counsel lay leaders, children,
and parents
Capable of overseeing and managing curriculum (Gospel Project) to
equip and train a variety of ages and teams in the church (at
times, writing and producing your own)
Skilled in triaging responsibilities
Able to be flexible and address needs as determined by the Lead
Pastor and Executive Pastor

What it's Like to Live in Fishers, Indiana:
Fishers is located in the southeast corner of Hamilton County and
is home to over a dozen parks and nature preserves. The Fishers
Trail & Greenway System has more than 85 miles available for use.
Fishers has a humid continental climate. Summers in Fishers are hot
and humid with temperatures regularly in the 85 -F range. Autumns
and springs have very comfortable temperatures normally around 70
-F.Fishers is known for several of the area's top attractions, such
as the Conner Prairie Interactive History Park, Fishers Train
Station, and Geist Reservoir. While many parts of Fishers have
modernized, a distinct "old town" feel still exists in the Nickel
Plate District, near the Fishers Train Station.
The Geist Reservoir offers activities like fishing and waterskiing.
The reservoir is located 5 miles south of the Hamilton Town Center
shopping complex and the downtown area of Fishers. There are many
golf courses around Fishers, and it was named the second Best
Under-rated Golf Community in the U.S. by Livability in 2010.
The city also offers a free summer concert series behind the
Fishers Government Center in the refurbished Nickel Plate District,
where an amphitheater was built in 2012. Fishers Music Works, an
umbrella organization for smaller music performance ensembles, was
created in spring 2013, offering a wide range of free and ticketed
concerts, performed by Fishers residents and local talent. The
Parks and Recreation Department hosts outdoor movie nights at the
amphitheater as well as holiday events.
