Job Description:

Description GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Survey Manager for our Ft Wayne, Fishers, or Indianapolis, Indiana offices. The successful candidate will be a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Indiana or have the ability to obtain this license within 6 months of hire. This position is eligible for GAI's flexible work schedules and a $2,000 sign-on bonus.
Essential Duties:

• 
  
• Oversight and management of survey crews and survey processing
  
• Development and management of mapping and legal descriptions - Right of Way Engineering and Location Route Survey Plats
  
• Pursuit and management of projects with local clients
  
• Meeting with clients, architects, engineers, and other design personnel to establish project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  
• This position will require some minor travel and overnight work on rare occasions.
  
  Supervisory Responsibilities:
  
  • 
    
  • This position will manage Survey Crew staff members including office technical CADD staff.
    
    Job Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • Associates or Bachelor's degree from a program accredited by ABET. PLS certification preferred.
      
    • Ability to sign and seal legal documents
      
    • The ability to multi-task and manage multiple survey projects and/or tasks concurrently is required.
      
    • Strong communication skills are required, including verbal, written, and presentation
      
    • Strong relationship management and leadership skills are required
      
    • Travel to project sites throughout Indiana and perform field survey work is required, with occasional overnight stays.
      
      Skills:
      
      • 
        
      • Computer Skills - Windows 10, Office 365, Internet software, GIS Mapping, and other systems and software deemed relevant to the position.
        
      • Project scheduling and management skills are required
        
      • The ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills are required

        The successful candidate will be expected to push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, and lift/maneuver up to 50 lbs., with or without accommodations, routinely. The position also requires walking, climbing, stooping, hiking over uneven and rugged terrain and within construction project sites. This position will be exposed to outside weather conditions routinely, including sunshine, rain, sleet, wind, etc.

          Qualifications
          Education Bachelors of Geography (preferred)
          Associates of Geography (required)
          Experience 10 years: Related experience. (required)
          5 years: Experience multi-tasking and managing multiple survey projects and tasks concurrently (required)
          Experience with INDOT survey practices and manuals. (preferred)
          Licenses & Certifications Prof Land Surveyor (PLS) (preferred)
