Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Holding Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years Required License: Indiana or Compact License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - Comfortable floating to inpatient PCU units - Experience in PCU required - Ability to work in a team nursing environment with LPNs - Ability to manage patient care for various acuity levels Description: This is an acuity adaptable unit. Patients range from medical-surgical level of care to PCU/stepdown/ICU level of care. Ratios can range from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on acuity type and patient type. This position is a float position. Registered Nurses must have experience in PCU. This is a boarding unit where patients come and remain until discharged or moved to an inpatient unit. Patients are stable and will be moved out if they become unstable. This unit has a flexible capacity and can accommodate up to 8-10 patients depending on staffing and acuity needs. Nursing staff may work in pairs, such as nurse/CNA or nurse/LPN, depending on patient acuity ratios. Team nursing is practiced in this unit, with Registered Nurses delegating tasks to LPNs when necessary. The position requires working every other weekend. Candidates must possess documented certification and experience outlined. Floating among units is required for all travelers. Candidates must work two out of three major holidays.
