License: Must be willing to obtain a temporary license prior to
start Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong PCU
experience - Ability to take higher ratios Description: ICU unit
with floating to PCU. RN must be able to take higher ratios.
Candidates will be screened for experience level. First-time
travelers are not accepted. Temporary licenses are acceptable but
must be obtained before starting. Must be willing to work two out
of three major holidays. Guaranteed hours are 36 for three 12-hour
shifts in a workweek. Special requirements include interpretation
of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias. Candidates must be
able to obtain a 12-lead EKG/ECG and perform thermoregulation.
Experience with acute and chronic renal failure, arterial line
management, and blood product administration is required. Knowledge
of care for ventilated patients and ventilator management is
essential. Candidates must adhere to infection prevention protocols
and isolation precautions. Experience in phlebotomy and wound care
is necessary. Ability to assist with chest tube insertion and
removal is required. The unit handles various patient diagnoses,
including ARDS, COPD, and acute shock. Candidates will float as
needed within the facility. Interpretation of arterial blood gases
and sedation monitoring is part of the role. Teamwork and
collaboration with interdisciplinary support are essential.
