Apidel Technologies is seeking a local contract Histology Technologist for a local contract job in Cincinnati, Ohio. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Histology Technologist - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Start Date: 01/19/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, nights - Employment Type: Local Contract Position: Histotechnician Speciality: Embedding, Microtomy Duration: 13 Weeks of Contract to FTE Location: Cincinnati, OH Shift Timing: 3rd/ 9PM to 5:30AM Monday-Friday Required Skills: • Embedding experience. • Microtomy experience • ASCP or HT Cert Preferred. Summary: • The histotechnician will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in our state of the art, CAP-certified pathology laboratory. • Under the guidance of a Senior or Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high quality diagnostic material within established turn-around-times. Responsibilities: • Embeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory. • Performs accurate gross description on tissue samples. • Perform quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records. • Operates all instruments/ equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies instrument/ equipment problems. • Meets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section. • Recognizes testing errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution. • Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol. • Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results. • Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System. • Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines. Required: • Associates degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science. • Formal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours) • Meets CLIA personnel standard criteria. • Skills in microtomy, , embedding, cutting and routine special staining techniques.2-4 years of experience Apidel Technologies Job ID API3622.
