core mission.Job SummaryDepartment Specific Responsibilities
- Posts vacant positions following the Office of Student Life's
established business processes.
- Verifies that information submitted by departments is accurate,
working with the department and Human Resources lead on updating
positions and/or descriptions before posting, and updating the
routing of the posting request.
- Follows the internal business process for hiring once
applicants are selected. This process includes communicating with
the applicant, requesting a background check, and processing the
I-9 forms.
- Works with the Human Resources lead on the onboarding process
for the Office of Student Life to ensure a consistent and engaging
experience for new hires.
- Assists the Human Resources lead with employee relations
matters as needed.General Responsibilities
- Coordinates, processes, verifies, and maintains HR related
work, which may include but not limited to: recruitment, training,
benefits, employee relations, performance evaluations,
classifications, I-9s and employee leaves of absences.
- Researches and analyzes HR related topics to help assist in
resolving issues and/or creating solutions.
- Creates, compiles, prepares, and analyzes reports and documents
for HR related activities.
- Performs and may coordinate data entry for processing
transactions and maintaining and keeping information current for
candidates, employees and/or retirees on a variety of HR
issues
- Provides administrative and related support to other HR
staff.
- Supports and maintains HR programs and events; maintains
up-to-date records of actions, decisions, and time frames.
- Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee
records and documents.QualificationsCombinations of related
education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the
minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work
experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for
education.EDUCATIONRequired
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)WORK
EXPERIENCERequired
- 3 years HR related experience plus advanced experience with
Microsoft Office Suite productsSKILLSRequired
- Demonstrates customer service skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities
- Friendly and service-oriented
- Highly thorough and dependable
- Demonstrates written communication skills
- Experience utilizing HRIS systems
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize
conflicting assignments and maintain focus on project

- Experience with IU HR systemsWorking Conditions / DemandsThis
role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate
a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The
position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving
around an office environment and the campus. The person in this
role must be able to perform the essential functions with or
