Press Tab to Move to Skip to Content Link Director of Financial Affairs, Information Technology Job SummaryPurdue University and its division of Finance are looking for a person with excellent leadership, planning, strategic thinking, problem-solving, organizational, project management, process management, and customer service skills to become its next Director of Financial Affairs for Information Technology. The Director of Financial Affairs for Information Technology will direct the management of finances and business operations of the OVPIT with annual expenditures of approximately $120M. Responsible for providing analysis and business support to facilitate the academic mission, initiatives, and operations. Take initiative to provide strategic advice and counsel to the assigned area and the respective leadership team concerning initiatives and their financial impact. Provide proper interpretation of university, federal, and sponsoring agency policies and procedures. Authorize and approve business activities and financial transactions. Act as a fiduciary ensuring financial strength, maintaining internal control compliance, and managing risk. Collaborate with individuals across the organization including deans, associate deans, department heads, faculty, and staff on varied finance and business operation topics. Responsible for the development of all recharge rates for all units within the division. Direct multiple Business Managers and support staff to provide quality and efficient service to support the mission, operations, and research for the division. -Direct the coordination of the preparation of the annual budget plan for the assigned areas. Coordinate the creation and preparation of specialized management reports utilizing central databases to gather data.Hybrid work will be considered for this position based on the candidate's location, and interest Required:

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field of study
  • 8 years of experience in business management, finance, or related field
  • Experience managing others
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and implement University policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated quantitative analytical skills and ability to solve complicated problems with little or no precedential guidance
  • Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
  • Must be able to foster a participative supervisory style that utilizes respect and teamwork to successfully guide the work of others
  • Must possess a learning orientation to change technology impacting business processes (e.g. SAP, etc.)
  • Personal computer and related software skills (spreadsheet, word processing, internet, database, etc.)
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and work with frequent interruption
  • Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position
  • A background check will be required for employment in this position
