We have a third location in Troy, Michigan which houses our Sales Engineering, Logistics Distribution Center for USA, and Customer Resident Engineering.Your responsibilitiesSUMMARY: Coordinate and manage development activities of products to meet customer timing and product performances by performing the following duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for all design related activities on specific projects:
    • Print dimensions / specification
    • Product testing / validation
    • Define new testing equipment needs
    • Support new design development and packaging study with Product Development Engineer, conduct design feasibility/manufacturability investigation with the supplier base.
    • Responsible for following Presta Product Life Cycle process & maintain PLM database at the released level.
      • Verify and maintain BOM for prototype build, supervise prototype RFQ process, and supervise prototype build to ensure on time delivery to customer.
      • Review & approve validation / test plan to meet design performances prior sharing with customer
      • Review & approve tests/FEA/Stack-up/etc. results & reports prior sharing with customer
      • Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (D-FMEA) process
        • Manage risks associated to the projects and report out findings (design, timing, cost)
          • Responsible to cascade project timing to purchasing, STA, Process Engineering to ensure project completion on time. Maintain overall master project timing.
          • Maintain Bill Of Material, responsible for change control and ensure change management process is followed.
          • Coordinate activities with Product Manager to ensure correct and on time RFQ response to customer
          • Problem solving
          • Travel to customers, Presta plants and suppliers in the U.S., Mexico and Europe when the need arises
          • Customer and supplier contact for technical issuesYour profileEducation and/or Experience:
            Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field with over 5 years' experience in the automotive industry or similar industry. Advanced Engineering Degree is a plus.
