Job Description:

Staffmark is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Hoist Operator in a local production facility. In this position, you will be operating a hoist to lift, transfer, and lower a basket in each stage of the cooking process on the production line. You will be responsible for following the operating procedures and general sanitation/clean up a needed.This position does require some lifting of 50 lbs regularly and can be at a fast pace. This company offers a variety of benefits including a temp to hire opportunity.1st shift: Monday - Friday 6:45am -4pm. This client is currently work every Saturday as well. Overtime is currently mandatory but for future notice, will be assigned and worked as needed.Job duties:

• Use hoist to stage containers/baskets for process
• Using hoist to lift, transfer, lower containers/baskets in cooker
• Use controls to seal chamber to start the process (steam pressure cooker) to cook canned foods according to specifications
• Observes dials and thermometers, and turns valves to control temperature, pressure, and cooking time
• Turns valves to release steam and allow cooling water into chamber to prevent overcooking at end of cooking cycle
• May also open retort and move basket of canned food to cooling trough, using hoist
• May also record items for example retort number, can size and grade description, cooking time, and number of pounds pressure on canning report
• Follow quality and operating procedures
• Additional tasks as neededRequirements:
  • Ability to stand for long period of time
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to multi-task and flexibility of job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work overtime weekly
