Safety RepresentativeIndiana Packers Corporation - Delphi, IndianaSummary:Indiana Packers Corporation, a large-scale pork processor, located in Delphi, Indiana is looking for a Safety Representative to work in our company. This position will partner with our management team to oversee the company's safety programs. This position reports to the company's Safety Manager. Interested candidates should carefully review the job description and apply.Responsibilities:Manage a comprehensive environmental, health, and safety program including prevention, investigation, and recording of accidents and related cost.Provide guidance for a variety of safety issues.Work with management to identify potential problems, develop effective safety practices and procedures.Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations and industry specific safety requirements.Partner with shift management to advise on preventive or corrective measures relating to process, machinery, layout, and / or personal protective equipment.Create and Administer training for multiple safety topics.Prepare and present company safety performance reports.Conduct Area hazard analysis and subsequent work orders.Qualifications:Bachelor's or master's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or other related field OR 2+ years of relevant job experience as a safety representative.General Industry 30-Hour Training Program Completion is preferred.Prior Operations Based Safety Management.Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).Willingness to work flexible hours to provide support while working occasional overtime, including weekends is required.Must be physically able to bend, walk, stand for extensive periods of time, and able to lift 50 lbs.Must be willing to maintain a presence on the processing floor.Ability to travel unrestricted domestically and have independent and reliable transportation.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Must demonstrate excellence in attendance and punctuality.Must be willing to relocate to the Delphi/Lafayette, Indiana area if not within a commutable distance.Physical Requirements:Work is primarily performed in an office environment requiring ability to sit, talk, hear, frequent walking, standing, and sitting; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
