Job Description:
PRIMARY DUTY:Plan, direct, and coordinate recreation programs
for community residents. May assess resident condition and
recommend appropriate recreational-activity.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable

to perform the essential functions.--- Develops and implements
activities programs to meet the needs of the residents in the
community, based on needs assessment, resident interests and
functioning ability, and objectives of the activities.--- Assesses
residents for programs, including input from Executive Director and
Wellness Director.--- Develops and distributes monthly activities
calendar,including monthly outings and daily outdoor activities as
directed.--- Responsible for promoting interest in recreational
activities for community residents, such as local outings, arts,
crafts, games, hobbies,and monthly resident celebrations, such as
birthday parties and cookouts.--- Assesses, develops and arranges
for one to one programming for those individuals who cannot attend
group activities, as necessary.--- Coordinates all necessary
transportation for the residents to and from any event outside the
community; drives residents in Company-provided vehicle, if
applicable.--- Responsible for the activity documentation being
completed in a timely fashion, ensuring activities are being
completed when scheduled.--- Completes and maintains inventory
lists in accordance to established budget.--- Enforces rules and
regulations of activities to ensure safety of the residents.---
Greets new arrivals to activities, introducing them to other
participants, explaining rules, and encouraging participation.---
Explains principles, techniques, and safety procedures to
participants in activities, and demonstrate use of materials and
equipment.--- Confers with management and staff to discuss and
resolve resident complaints.--- Evaluates recreation areas and
services to determine if they are producing desired results.---
Relates to residents, family members, public and professionals
appropriately.--- On-call and Weekend Manager duties may be
required as directed by the Executive Director.--- Reports any
issues or problems that may arise to the Executive Director.---
Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable healthcare
and safety standards.--- Assists families and other visitors as
needed.--- Attends/completes required in-services and other
required meetings.--- Performs other duties as directed.SUPERVISORY
REQUIREMENTS of this position are generally as follows:--- Oversees
the activities of the Activities Department and its volunteers,
indirectly supervises all other associates as a Department Head.---
Provides guidance/input to fellow Department Heads and participates
in supervisory responsibilities indirectly for all
associates,including, but not limited to, appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining associates; and addressing complaints
and resolving problems.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE an equivalent
combination of education, training and experience will be
considered.--- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; minimum of 1 year
of experience in Activities.--- If responsible for driving
residents, must have valid driver's license and a clean driving
record.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES which may be representative
but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this
position.--- Reading Ability - Able to read and interpret written

the functions of this job.--- The associate may be exposed to
bodily fluids and odors on an occasional basis.--- The noise level
in the work environment is usually moderate.PHYSICAL ABILITIES

performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently
required to talk, speak and hear. The associate is regularly

arms or smell.--- The associate must regularly lift and/or move up
to 25 pounds,and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.---
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and
the ability to adjust focus.
