side of Indianapolis where the Procurement and Supplier Development
Department, Business Development and Product Engineering are now
located. We have a third location in Troy, Michigan which houses
our Sales Engineering, Logistics Distribution Center for USA, and
Customer Resident Engineering.Your responsibilitiesSUMMARY: Manages
purchasing contracts for direct material and serves as primary
interface. High technical knowledge and ability to interface with
both internal and external engineering teams.Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.Development and continuous optimization of sourcing
category strategies for assigned sourcing categories.Execution of
global market forecasts and trend analyses.Sourcing and developing
new suppliersPreparing and conducting/leading (contract)
negotiations.Supplier management (e.g. evaluation, revision,
regular meetings with key suppliers of assigned sourcing
categories).Initiation of procurement transactions; conducting
analyses that may require profound technical understanding of
specific sourcing categories.If and when required, supporting
Cluster managers and Cluster Team Members in the development and
implementation of new Groupwide strategies and improvement
measures.Coordination of cross-functional collaboration to ensure
that the requirements of internal clients reflect current market
offering/support standardization and are in line with pursued
cluster/PSM strategies.Development, agreement, and implementation
of a sustainable commodity group strategy geared to automotive and
OEM needs as well as systematic analysis of procurement
marketsEnsures the supplier management (supplier evaluation /
supplier development / supplier escalation)Development and
implementation of action plans for continuous improvement of the
supplier performance including supply chainCreating a global
supplier pool - creating a mandatory bidders list, supplier
consolidation including relocation and forward sourcingEnsures
competence and qualification of the suppliers in cooperation with
the designated departmentsEnsures / supports the entire procurement
process (e.g. COP, series and benchmark, E-auctions)Ensures
automotive-friendly processing of contracts considering the
country-specific circumstances with the support of the judiciary
and, if necessary, the local purchasing organizationCompliance,
implementation of the budgeted material costs as well as the
additional action plansMonitoring the material price situation and
market developmentCompliance with procurement directives
(CD's)Ensures cooperation with the project procurementSupport of
sales by market information (quotes, material prices, trends,
etc.)Demonstrates and initiates value analysis potentialCreating a
binding commodity group strategyMarket monitoring, early detection
of trends and action fieldsEnsures selection and auditing of
suppliers for the procurement of components at competitive prices
or a technology leadershipIs responsible for bid solicitation with
subsequent purchase price analysis for benchmark studies and
COPChecks documents for procurement conference and provides a
recommendation coordinated with the team which is based on the
valid bidders listConducts final and contract negotiations in
cooperation with the project procurementDischarges cluster activity
in the affiliated group as a cluster memberSupports with capacity
bottlenecks and queries during escalationDetermines the procurement
strategies together with the project purchasing prior to
reviewCoordination of all commercial activities with
suppliersNegotiating and concluding contracts with the involvement
of the judiciaryYour profileQUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are

required.Experience in the automotive sector / line
productionStrong negotiation skillsSocial skills / ability to work
in a teamEducation and/or Experience:Bachelor s degree (B.S.) in
Engineering or equivalent; or four to ten years related technical
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
