GENERAL SUMMARY It is the responsibility of the Airport Maintenance
Worker (Buildings) to perform general and skilled trades
maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and grounds at all
airports owned or operated by the IAA. Maintenance tasks include,
but not limited to, doors, locksmith, plumbing, installation and
repair, painting, drywall finishing, basic electrical, and
carpentry. Must participate in snow removal activities. Perform any
and all other tasks as required. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate Fire Alarm Computer. Maintain and operate fire suppression
system. Installation and repair of low voltage DC and AC electrical
equipment. Welding. Carpentry work including construction of walls
and offices. Drywall installation and finishing. Commercial
plumbing installation and repair including water heaters, mixing
valves, circulating pumps, irrigation system, potable water
cabinets, and domestic water system. Install commercial flooring of
all types. Locksmith two different system Schlage and Best
combinate cores and cut keys. Painting and commercial wall
covering. Install and repair different types of locks, cylindrical
Mortise, and combo locks. Operate lifts and Bucket Trucks. Repair
and replace doors and their hardware. Perform minor repairs which
include but are not limited to clearing plugged drains and
fixtures, repairing broken doors, replacing lights, painting and
operating HVAC equipment. Participate in snow removal operation as
directed, responding on a 24-hour basis to the needs of the
airport. Operate trucks, power sweepers, forklifts, tractors and
snow removal equipment. Operate and maintain waste disposal system.
Report any unusual security situations to the Safety Department.
Make general repairs to pavement, drainage systems and
outbuildings. Perform any other functions and assist other
departments as needed. PREFERED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Graduation from high school, completion of a GED, or vocational
school is required. A combination of education and experience that
provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties
of this position is preferred. Three to five (3 -5) years'
experience in the proper use of tools and equipment used in
maintenance and construction work. Three to five (3 - 5) years'
experience in one or more of the building trades or any combination
of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skill and
ability to perform the duties of this position. Ability to perform
all the physical and cognitive tasks outlined in the job
description. Prior experience in operating light duty construction
vehicles. Ability to perform all the physical and cognitive tasks
outlined in the job description. REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES
AND CONDITIONS Must be able to obtain a commercial driver's license
(Class B) and forklift certification. Demonstrated good driving
record. Ability to perform all the essential functions of the job
outlined above without creating a direct threat to the safety of
oneself or others. PHYSICAL TASKS Operate all motor vehicles and
airport equipment. Operate small equipment and power tools. Lift up
to 100 pounds. Climb ladders and stairs. Climb, crawl, walk, sit,
stand, pull, push, stoop, bend, squat, stretch. Have full physical
dexterity and agility. Write, talk, see, hear. Operate airport
radio. Operate machinery. Operate snow removal equipment. COGNITIVE
TASKS Read and comprehend. Comprehend, retain, and follow oral and
written instructions. Exercise good judgment. Inspect. Effectively
communicate over the radio. Continue technical training. Do
detailed work with minimal tolerance. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work
independently. Work as a team. Work in all types of weather and
temperature conditions. Work extended hours, weekends or nights.
Work outside and inside. Exposure to dust, dirt and mud. Exposure
to hazardous chemicals. Work under high stress situations. Exposure
to moving machinery. Multiple work sites. Isolated with minimal
