Piqua is a community of 22,000, which offers a friendly, small-town atmosphere yet is still an easy drive to Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati.Job SummaryHartzell Propeller seeks an HVAC Technician to operate, maintain and repair all equipment used for heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. The technician must be flexible to work any shift as needed to include night shift. In addition, the technician will have responsibility for all Hartzell buildings and could be working on equipment during inclement weather. The HVAC Technician will be part of the Maintenance and Facilities team and should be flexible to support the other members of the team with tasks which may include electrical, plumbing and other. This role does require working in high areas so the hired individual must have the abiltity to work from a ladder Requirements:Key Deliverables1. Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment and components to manufactures recommendation, i.e. valves, motors, belts, bearings, filters, and lubrication etc.2. Perform scheduled inspections to ensure the HVAC systems are functioning properly.3. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization 4. Finish and close Work Orders in the CMMS, and log hours worked along with materials used5. Be familiar with the fire panels and respond to fire alarms systems. 6. Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner a. Follow proper safety protocols which includes wearing appropriate PPE and using tools properly to avoid injury and accidentsb. Handle chemicals, refrigerants and electrical components in a safe manner, in compliance with regulations.First Year Success Factors1) Familiarize yourself with the company's culture and values to build strong relationships with co-workers and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment2) Learn the locations of all HVAC equipment and how they relate to each building3) Learn the basics of equipment management controls to effectively start, stop, seek status or adjust settings on HVAC systems.4) Develop strong problem-solving skills to address complex HVAC issuesEducation/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC education preferred; a minimum of 2 years' experience with HVAC operation and maintenance; EPA 608 CertificationTechnical Competencies
  • Demonstrated understanding of the requirements of EPA 608, understanding of how to appropriately handle refrigerants
  • Familiar with industry standards and regulations HVAC systems and regulations -
  • Understands manufacturer specifications for installation, maintenance, and basic computer skills for operating our energy management system and CMMS (iMaint) for preventative maintenance and work order management
